just stick with 94+...it eliminates any issues with axles and 1/2shafts

Yeah most people say 94+ because of the whole ABS issue. 90% of the 90-93 did not come with ABS. But yes the halfshaft, and axels are the same.

Thanks for all the replies guys. It seems like when it's all said and done I'm gonna be paying well over 2000 dollars to do this swap. That's a bit out of my budget. A couple of you mentioned changing the gasket myself and I'm thinking about doing it. I've done minor work before. But about just purchasing the same engine I have now - D16y8 or maybe a D16z6? These engines are fairly cheap and I won't need anything but the engine? It may turn out to cost less, and I would get an engine with less miles.

swapping an entire engine instead of just changing the gasket...
why not just sell the car and buy a new one??
Who says the engine you get will be in any better shape?

Its not hard as long as you have a halfway decent manual

I'm just exploring my options. My car has 127,000 miles on it, and I figured if I could get an engine with less miles for less than changing the gasket then why not. But you have a good point - I may get another engine with more problems.

127,000 miles is just breaking in a honda motor, change your damn gasket lol.

Read the writeups and find some friends nearby who will help you out.

Dude It's easy. When your looking at it maybe it can seem like a bit much. I did my head gasket in less then 3 hours By myself! That's with ac, and ps. The hardest part will be taking off the crank bolt if you can get past that your flying easy on everything else. And the crank pully is not that hard if done right, If you do change the head gasket make sure you spend the extra $40 and take the head to a machine shop and have them deck the head. Goodluck if you need help on changing your gasket let me know I will try to pm you all the help I can.
