Default Whining Noise

1997 Honda Civic EX, Around 3G I hear a whining noise coming from the engine compartment. It happens in or out of gear, belts fine. Please give me any suggestions.

A/C idler pully?
Radiator fan motor?
Distributor bearings?

Each of these have failed over the years on my car and made whinning noises.

does it sound like it could be coming from the tranny? if ur throwout bearing or pilot bearing is bad then it would make a whining sound... i would turn the car on and lift the hood to pinpoint where the noise is comming from.

grab a long screwdriver/ socket extension etc... place the "item" to where you belive the noise is coming from and stick your ear to the other side of the "item". the sound will transmit through the "item". but i would lean more towards tranny parts like mentioned above.
