i was wondering because i just took my '97 ex on a long trip and at one particular town, the needle was covering the red mark, but the light still did not come on. when i filled up it took about 10.2 gallons. in my manual it says the tank is 11.9 gallons so i just wasn't sure.

 

isn't there like 2 gallons left even after the light goes on?
