I suppose that's possible, but wouldn't they have picked that up when they balanced the tires? I'm thinking if it was a bent rim, Firestone would've jumped at the chance to try and sell me new rims and tires.

Nope, actually even a bent rim will ballance out, however, you will still feel vibrations due to the wheel not being perfectly round.

What you need to do, is have the rim pressure ballanced, and have its diameter checked. Most tire shops are not able to do it, your best bet is a shop with "Hunter" ballancing machine - these machines are the most precise.

Hmm, very interesting. Thanks for the tips! I'll see what I can do.

With as crappy as the suspension on it was prior to this weekend, a bent rim could be a real possibility. A warped tire could be too. I was riding the bump stops on pretty minor bumps in the road.
