Default Turbo on 145k

You think boosting 5psi on a engine with 145k miles is ok? Should I do a compression check to make sure?

Get a compression and leakdown test before you do anything. That will tell you the condition of your motor. If the results are good, go for it.

I have 142k on my motor and am boosting 10 psi, so mileage really doesn't matter as long as the car was taken care of.

sweet. i realized n/a was gonna take way to long and too much money to do. i realized i could peice my own kit for less than 1k, and i would get more power out of it. could i get the compression and leakdown test at any autoshop?

Yeah, you could. They also sell compression and leakdown testers at autoparts stores if you want to try and do it yourself.
