Default wheel rub on 15x6.5 wheels??

I own a 1992 civic hatch back, i had ROH wheels that rubbed like crazy so I sold them and now have a stock set of 2001 civic wheels with hubcaps, they are 14s with 195 r14 tires on them. they dont rub at all like the ROH wheels did. I was wondering how wide stock 14" civic wheels are? And if I were to buy a set of Rotas in 15x6.5 would they rub?? Thanks

most stock honda 15" wheels are 6 inches wide.

you should be able to go to 15x7 and be slammed pretty bad without rubbing.

15x7.5 and you will start to rub on the outer lip if you have the correct offset, this can be counteracted with the correct camber setting

Yea you can count on rubbing with a 7.5" wide tire.

7.5 is about the most you can fit on a that car, and its a squeeze

I"ve run everything from 18x7" wheels to 15x6" wheels. Of course wheel/tire rubbing all depends on a few things:

1) wheel width
2) wheel offset
3) tire size
4) how low you are
5) how much negative camber you are running

For a Civic (and most Civic based cars ie: CRX, Integra) a 15x7" with 40-45mm offset works with a 205/50x15" tire. I have 15x7" Enkei RPF1s with 41mm offset, 15x7" Kosei K1s with 45mm offset, both with 205/50x15" Azenis and no rubbing problems. But I'm also running -2.8 negative camber front and -1.8 rear.

With the 15x7" Kosei K1-TS with 38mm offset and the Azenis I was rubbing bad with the above camber (in the rear). With 16x7" Rota C8s with 40mm offset and 205/45x16" Toyo Proxes 4s I would rub lightly on the rears.

With 15x7" Kosei K1s with a 3mm spacer on the front I would rub with 225/45x15" Hoosier A3S03s on the front on the iinner and outer fenders.
