Default Tach install help

I've read a lot of tach install guides. I just have a problem with the lighting wire, the yellow one. Im really knew to electrical stuff, can someone post in detail how I would connect the yellow wire to the auxilary port in the fuse box under the dash? Also, the guy I bought the car from already had a tach installed but took it out when he sold it to me, so I just wanna make sure, does the tach wire have a rubber thing on the end of it? it was under the hood on the drivers side towards the windshield. It wasnt solid blue, it was blue and had like small silver rings spaced throughout. Anyway, thanks. O, and the red wire, I have it connected straight to the battery, is that right?

yea, ive been studying that for a long time. i dont understand the part where I have to connect the wire to the fuse. I know nothing about fuses. Can I connect the yellow wire to the fuse with just a crimp? and how do I know which is the right fuse? also, the red wire, i have it wired straight to the battery, would that work?

Yes. Useful link! :werd:

Why don't you just splice it into your interior dimmer switch harness so the lighting is adjustable along with the rest of your dash lights? It's fairly easy to get to that wire. Use a vampire clamp and it will take seconds. Use a voltmeter if you want to check which wire to use, or if it doesn't dim, just use the other wire.
