lowered springs same as standard springs
i have a honda civic eg 1.5 lsi 3dr hatch. i have put some spax lowred springs on it 40mm drop. the car still has the same height as before with the standard springs. the lowered springs are only 1cm shorter than the standard. any help please. thanks
what drop did claim would occur ??? sometimes, it takes some time for the springs to adjust. another thing, how old are your struts/shocks ??? if they are stock then you need to definatly get new ones. try tokico, tein, or kgb

i am thinking of getting new shocks and springs in the future but i want some which make the ride smooth and not so u feel evey little bump in the road. are coilover suspension good or what would u reccomend. thanks
The Spax 40mm drop should defo sit lower, i had a 1.5 lsi civic hatch and dropped it 50mm on spax springs and it woz on the deck, ive also done the same to my 1.6vti civic hatch, and it has dropped loads. Do you still have the packaging? The kit you have should have this part no. S012011. The springs will settle a little bit over time, but no more than say 2-3mm than when first fitted.
The Part of the spring with more coils should be at the bottom, also you will not have to change the shocks unless they are worn out (car keeps bouncing wen u push down on each corner off the car) Coilovers will be much better for racing, however they will be very firm, even with a higher ride height and a softer setting. I would say the best for a reasonable ride which is still quite low and improved handling is a spring and shock kit from spax, eibach or tein etc. I'd try the spax personally their non adj PSX kit with 40mm lower is part no. P060 and the same kit only with 50mm lower is part no. p070. take a look for yourself www.spax.co.uk
Hope this helps Ste

Did they send it for the right car? A heavier Civic will have stiffer springs so it will settle more than a lighter car. 40mm=4cm=almost 1.75".

but on the spax website it says springs shoud be fitted wth the writing faceing the right way and more coils side at the top and less on the bottom.
Its been a while since i fitted mine, but i was sure it was more coils at bottom? But if it says that on the spax website ther most likely correct!! lol.
I'll check mine tomorrow for peace of mind and post back......soz if i am wrong!!
