Default Power of the internet

We finally picked up our LX, Pearl Blue. What I did was ask for quotes via the internet from 3 different dealers in the area. The one we wanted to buy from still did not budge from the price. The next closest one said they would move $200.00. The furthest of the 3 said they would come down $600.00. I then forwarded the email from the 3 one to the first one.

The first dealer who wasn't gonna move responded by saying that they were eating crow and said they would do $700.00. I still wanted another hundred off.

Then we got our financing through our credit union. I knew where we wanted our payments and my wife and I came to an out the door cost for ourselves.

I called the dealer and said I've got $18,200.00 out the door, tax, title license. We can buy today. They agreed. That brought the car from $17,860 to $17,005.00.

O the power of the internet.

Congratulations on the new car!

Why did you go with the LX over the EX though? Was it only a matter of getting the payments you wanted?

Pretty much. The cars are Identical performance wise. I lost a sunroof. No big deal and XM capability. Still no biggie... I really wanted the alloys but I will try and find some nice wheels for it in the future. Probably will stick with 16's as I think the ride will be to harsh with anything bigger. Plus 16's look big on this car.

Speaking of wheels, anyone know a place on line other than tirerack that has good prices and selection?
