I never said they weren't. I was just saying they were possible things that might be causing the problem. It's not like you have to replace the distributor if your coil or ignitor are bad.

No. I knew someone that accidentally wired a constant 12v to an injector while doing a swap, so the injector was always open and spraying fuel. Even that didn't flood out, it just ruined the cat thanks to raw fuel going out of the exhaust.

I was just letting him know so he wasnt looking all over like a n00b for an external coil etc...

A "new" motor could come with a dozen new headaches! Learn to fix things.

Popped in a used distributor...started up, running good
