lowered civic, alignment pronlem?
I have goodyear f1 eagle z rated tires and they're ruined. my civic is lowered and the inside of my tires are worn down to the metal but the tread on the outside is near perfect. Is this an alignment problem? I went to Goodyear and they said they cant align it bc the car is too low (bumper in the way and the maschine cant read it). Do lowered cars usually have problems like this and how can I fix it? And when I get new tires installed, will most places make sure its aligned and everything?
First of all, it sounds like you car is lowered more than 1.5" Also, you need to make sure you get a camber kit for the front and possibly the rear to correct your camber, as it is always affected when lowering a car more than 1.5" However, your "toe" is also highly affected when lowering a car. You need to get to an alignment shop immediately to get this corrected as much as possible if you cannot get a camber kit right away. If not, you will just keep going through those tires buddy.
Hint* get some cheepo tires for the time being so your not wearing through some good ones like Falken Azenis!
EDIT* Toe causes tire wear faster than your camber does

omni-power makes a good camber kit for the civic, im getting that for my teg in a week. i had ingalls on my civic for the front and it worked fine. the ones that i listed are either an upper control arm with a sliding ball joint, or something that bolts to the upper control arm. the ingalls camber kit just bolts up to the upper control arm on both sides right under the strut tower (i cant remember what the components are called).
for the rears you can just take off the upper stablizer? bar that bolts to the body and then you can buy 2 new longer bolts with the same thread pitch and add washers to reduce your camber. i added 2 washers in the back of my 2 stock bolts on my teg when i lowered it about 2 inches and it straightened out the rears.

First of all I can bet you $100 that it's not camber but more toe. Toe wears out tires quicker than camber. Since with camber you just roll on the sidewalls more than with toe where you are scrubbing the sidewalls.
How would I know since both my Civics run with -2.5 to -3.0 camber on the front and the tires are fine after 1-2 years.

Yep, toe more than camber.
Take off your front bumper and then go to the alignment rack. If goodyear continues to say no, call around. (I go to firestone and got lifetime alignments for like $150)
Sad to hear you killed some nice rubber because you didnt do what you should have done after messing with suspension.
