ACT flywheels
hey guys, just wondering what you guys though about the prolite and streetlite flywheels... for people that may have this or drivin in a car with one. do you think that prolite was too light of a flywheel and makes drivability shitty? same thing with streetlite... or do you think that both reduce drivability, but both greatly increase fun and it dont matter?
thanks
thanks
I never heard anything bad about ACT flywheels quality wise. I guess it's all personal preferance. I myself have a Fidanza flywheel. It weighs only 7.5 pounds. I've yet to drive with it though.
ok, im pretty sure streetlite is around 12lb and prolite is around 8lb. i thnk im leaning towards the prolight, cuz its only like $40 more, and i figure if im doing it at all, might as well go all the way, lol. but i'd still like to hear anybody's experiences with it. thanks
im runnin the streetlite. i noticed a difference but not a huge difference. i heard some theories that boosted cars don't like the 8lb as much but im sure it'd work just the same. it might be a lil more tricky on a daily driven car
I have no problems with my Prolite. It is fine for street and the difference in driving difficulty is negligible.
My car doesn't like the flywheel when it is warm because it will stall after idling from a higher engine speed because of the choppy idle that the turbo creates and the flywheel slows down too much. It only happens once or twice, so it isn't that big of a deal.

I've got the Streetlite flywheel in my 96 EX (D16Y8) along with an ACT Heavy Duty pressure plate and clutch disc.
I do notice a slight difference with the lighter flywheel, and no problems at all! Most of the rest of the car is pure stock, and I don't plan on taking it to a track anytime soon, so everybody recommended not going below the 12lb Streelite model. I love it!
