no..rev matching is when you downshift and up the RPMS to match. he is talking about already being in gear with the gas down and just putting the clutch in and out real fast to make the car jump forward

There is no point in double clutching. if you are going to race you would not double clutch, you would power shift, so double clutching is a waste of ur time...

u have one in 1st gear? driving in a CX, i need all the power i need coming out of turns..... so i just double clutch into 1st..... it amazes my friends every time i do it. i'm hoping that my tranny will blow up soon so i can justify spending 2k on a b16a2

double clutching: ie. to double-clutch from 2nd-3rd - shift to neutral, release clutch. then rev engine in neutral, then press on clutch to shift to 3rd, right at where the revs should be when ur at that speed in 3rd gear.
when down shifting, its the same as rev matching, except u match revs in neutral, not just with the clutch held down

...shift to 2nd, nail the throttle, shortly after you floor it nail the clutch real quick in and out one time. I've done it once, it's an interesting and different experience..that's all I'm saying about it.

dude.. putting the clutch in and taking out again to make the car jump? wtf! that doesnt do crap!!

double clutching is something that truckers use because they dont have syncros. i dunno hwo to explain it. but thats how its done-- ive read it somewhere. i know its on g2ic.com, like in the tips section or whatever.

but as letting the car jump and stuff? that makes you look like an idiot who cant drive a stick, and it doesnt give you a boost or anything. just shift like normal.

putting in the clutch and blipping the throttle is called burning your clutch.
putting in your clutch and blipping the throttle while down shifting is called rev matching, people do this so the downshifts are smoother, and its easier on your transmission.

~~Double clutching is done with some old trucks and old muscle cars. you kinda pump the clutch so that the gear slips smoothly into place.
