Default I think something is wrong with my motor, not sure...

Well, I went to a strip a while back with two friends. One in a 94 lude with a f22, the other in a 95 civic sedan with a d16. I have the b16 sedan. I cam in at like 15.76 on average I suppose. I didn't bother to pick up my slip you had to get them at like a stand near the rear entrance/exit.

Anyway, the D16 kept up with me like 1/2 way, and the f22 pretty much romped me. My question is, how the hell did that happen? Like two months ago I beat both at the same place. Could my IAT sensor CEL cause me to run really rich? Also my throttle cable isn't tentioned on the bracket because it doesn't fit. I just don't get it. I'm not worried about the whole getting beat, I'm worried about my motor. All the fluids are good, no odd noises, no smoke what-so-ever. I know the b16's far from the quickest motor, but an f23 single cam destroyed me. I'm guessing the d16 was just a shitty launch on my part. I dunno, I'm rambling because I'm nervous. I guess it's one of them "can't do things you used to be able to" situations.

are you throwing any codes? why would your run a car that's unfit to be on a track? there are too many possible problems and things to occur to say what is wrong. It sounds like it could be driver, or anything really.

Yea, I've had code 10 air intake temp sensor since I did the swap. I and other people belive its my p30 because im using my old harness with added vtec wires and with my old motor there was no cel with that harness, i replaced the actual sensor and the cel is still there. I just dont want to dump 100$ into an ecu and have the cel still be there.

Could also be that you throttle plate is not been opened fully due to you not having the throttle cable on the bracket. Check that out

Then there was this integra with a b18c5 sleeved block 10.5 comp. I thought hmm, ok. Take off, 1st and 2nd gear kept up with him, as soon as he hit the next gear wham. I had this blank stare on my face. Holy moley.

:dunno: i've seen B16 swaps run 15's all day long. Could be driver, could be traction... lots of things.

I ran 15.7 average. It's my second time ever to a track. so of course I'm not going to be awesome at launches and such. I just didn't know if anything was up because my friend with the single cam 2.3 lude romped me and he doesn't even race. It was just like a thing for fun. It was like 45$ for two hours or something.

you spent $2000 and you can't hang with a d16. Congrats. I think it's just the b16 is weak...

Or, possibly, just possibly, I'm not saying anything, but it could be my shitty launches. h:

Wait. Can't hang? I don't get it. As soon as i hit third every time I got by him. I said he kept up with me about 1/2 way every time. He's a really good driver too. To sum it up for you, basically it's good launches with less power versus "lesser quality" launches and more power. It took the extra power to get by him.
