The Edelbrock intake manifolds are typically a hundred or so bucks more though.

Nope. The Skunk2 mimics the ITR intake design while the edelbrock is its own design.

First off what model civic are you driving? Second, what is your budget? Third. Buy a used turbocharged car. When I dumped ass loads of money into my Civic years ago there were not many cheap factory turboed cars. Now you can get a 2002 WRX or a used SRT-4 for next to nothing. Not to mention a used GSX or Talon TSI, MR2 Turbo, etc. I love Civics and I will not part with mine but I'm on my last Honda project until the six speed Accords come way down in price or until they add some juice to their lineup. I attended an SRT-4, WRX mini meer atthe track last night and it was sad running 13.4 and almost getting beat by an SRT-4 with less than 2k in mods. Me and one other CRX were the only two honda's to break 14's. Don't be one of the thousands of kids that dump 5k into their Civics and never break 14's. Just save your pennies or wait until you get a real job and get a real car.
