Default Ls/vtec

i have been a member of this site for less than a week. but have always read the threads through a friends computer for about 3 months. i need alot of info on building an LS/VTEC. I dont need opinions or pro's and con's of it. i need factual info. i have a 93 Hatchie. I have a blown gsr motor and a ls that i recently aquired from a friends parted out integra. How do i get past the oil jet problem? will a GSR tranny work better or will the LS tranny work better? I have the means to build the block but need info. it doesnt have to be step by step. I just need somebody to place the dots. I can draw the lines later.

shorter gears will always equal faster acceleration - gsr is the way to go (dont listen to anyone that says "ls has long gearing = good for turbo"...theyre wrong)

But i already heard that these motors are unreliable so i really dont want to add a turbo. would the gsr tranny still be the way to go.

I was considering putting a GSR tranny on my LS. How much faster was it?

lsvtec is more reliable now, than it was in the past. New parts and a better understanding has led to it being a lot safer to drive and even still with the addition of a turbo.
To do it safely, you should research everything carefully, add the necessary safe-guards and have it tuned/worked on by someone that really knows what theyre doing.

Thank you for the advice. I have found full kits to make the conversion go more smoothly but if anybody can give me a little more help on where i can get more info regarding this operation. I will be stickin with the gsr tranny. Would it be better to fully build the block or leave it stock so i dont lose money when it blows.

ya dude get a golden eagle conversion kit. Its $200 and you dont have to do ANY machining what do ever! Its so awsome, you get the perfect head gasket, a tap set, a plug for the head, a nice sandwich for the oil feed and a nice oil line to tap into the head! You even get perfect dowels for perfect head alignment! No drilling! its so great for $200!
