all vtec does is give you the best of both worlds (low end + high end) and a hot cam will just give you high end (and more of it).. but who cares when you got it punched your always revd high anyways. vtecs more of an economy thing.. how many 10 second cars or faster do you see with vtec/vvt?

alot.. thats the most stupid advice i've seen in awhile on here.. possible building up the ls block..good idea.. possible superchargering/turboing it good idea too.. stage 3 cams?? are you serious?? this guy is daily driving from what it sounds..stage 3 would not only make that car not be able to idle correctly at a stop light but seriously kill gas.. no vtec is not a economy thing because its designed to give that car a low end torque.. or keep that high end up even higher..my "vtec" motor ran 14.1 at 104..vtec is always goin to be overseed unless that ls motor has some seriously shit.. motor for motor it'll never win.. Turbo vs turbo vtec the vtec will win *keep in mind this is pound for pound..thinking each motor has the same setup/ecu/driver* This may not be a good point to go by by a vtec motor will always over power some ls motor.. you for say..reving to 10+ k.. I infect haven't seen a 13-11 second honda rev that high buddy.. there's no cam profiles that make power that high.. in all seriouness unless you got a dyno sheet to prove it.. skunk2 stage 3's along with crower are suppose to be the shit they stop making power around 9200-9400rpms.. your better off switching to a stage 1 POSSIBLE a stage 2 cam with some nice adjustable cam gears.. get you a upgraded valvetrain and possible some pistons/rods/rod bolts and some head studs.. and slap you a nice turbo on there.. you can probably build a custom kit for around 1700 anyway..but dont get no stage 3 cams..

There are plenty of people running the crower stage 3 (403) cams in their ls street cars. Granted, their stages are smaller than most other companies that make only vtec cams...but then there are those that run the 404's in their ls streets WITH turbo and WITH overlap.

If vtec is so special, why do the top racers remove it w/ vtec-killer cams??

vtec was designed to give a decent gas mileage, bottom end and midrange and still make top end power for everyday driving. when you're racing and need every bit of power possible, you dont have to worry about any of that.
