The cover will come off if you unplug the O2 sensor wiring.

Any of you guys ever broke off an o2 sensor inside the header. I bought my car with a check engine light (it was a dead o2 heater) so i go to replace it the next day after i bought it and it snapped off flush with the header. Took me a good 2 hours of some awesome dremeling to get that baby out of there. i had to take the header off too .

The new one went in perfectly fine after i completly cleaned all the threads. I'm still puzzled as to why it snapped so easy, i'm guessing it was the factory one from 1995 so... my brother's 91 accord did the same thing but i was able to get vise grips on his..mine was perfectly flush with the header. God i hate exhaust work..
I even used the honda factory o2 sensor socket!! Either i dont know my own stregth or honda uses cheap o2 sensors h:

it's not horrible though, all you do is pull the header off and use a dremel and just attack it on one side and use a screw driver and pry it out then and remember HEAT IS YOUR FRIEND lots and lots of heat then pentrating fluid, then heat then pentrating fluid. it will save you.
