new exhaust overheating?
hey quick question: i just put on an axel back muffler today and after taking it for a quick drive around the block (about 1.5 miles) i felt the muffler and it was very hot. is this normal or should i be concerned?

Just playing...as everyone else said, its totally normal. Exhausts heat up really fast. If you think your muffler got hot, you should have touched your head pipe...that thing heats up in about 20 seconds.
To prevent you from being humilated any more, I'm going to close this thread.
You engine produces heat... and hot gas byproduct, which flows through your exaust system. Hot air around metal, = hot metal. Engine heat, transfered through metal contacts = hot metal.
