i dunno if it's really important or not... but to be safe, i'd fun as much out as possible, then get a full tank of 93. i small amount of 89 wo't dilute the 93 enough to cause huge trouble.

just dont boost it. take the wastegate spring out or stay way low in rpms.

won't he have to re-tune it w/ 93 octane though?

Personally, I would just leave it.

All we have out in California is 91 octane and my GSR (which requires premium fuel stock) runs at 8 psi daily without a problem, so I doubt it would dilute it any more than just a full tank of 91.

Doubtful.

Firstly, the emanage that comes with the turbo requires an extra harness to do ignition timing and that is what would be off when switching from lower octane to higher octane.

Secondly, the emanage is there mainly for getting the car running and drivable. I wouldn't waste my time tuning it because it sucks. The daily check engine lights and OBD2 learning around it aren't even worth the money spent on dyno time or a wideband. If you are going to tune with something, make it something worth tuning.

Thirdly, if you do decide to tune it, I doubt it would be anywhere before that initial tank of diluted gas is used, so it won't be an issue.

I had the same problem last week. My car had about 1/2 tank of reg, so i burned it down to E, filled about 3 gals of 93, which im burning down now. When i get the car tuned, I will fill it to the top with 93.

I would run reg with a turbo, even if you dont beat on it.
