Default Chrome Spraypaint

A buddy of mine painted his housings and doesn't like them anymore. Can you buy a paint that looks like the original chrome/reflective paint stuff they put on there? He wants to go back to just straight silver. Has anyone ever tried to 'undo' their painted housings like that?

I know that there is such a thing as "chrome" spray paint. Look for it in your local hardward/automotive store. Most likely that Duplicolor makes it.

Tried.. can't. No one ever wants to sell, and when they do they want ridiculous amounts of $$$. Going to have to paint them.

paint thinner, aircraft remover (depending on the material; will eat through all paint)

too bad it'll eat through the cheesey "chrome" layer and straight into the plastic... paint thinner and plastic just make sloppy mess...

There's never a paint that comes out 'chrome', you can be close to it, but never have the reflectiveness (word?) to the chrome. Try to use thinner, but mix it- 1 part Thinner, 1 part rubbing alcohol. I can't garuntee that it won't strip the chrome, but it's worth a shot... I'm sure you can pick up a used set of headlamps though.

I know that Testors (Hobby Paint) has them, but the one that I'm looking for is by SEM's. I'd rather use that for tinting than the Testors.
