There's never a paint that comes out 'chrome', you can be close to it, but never have the reflectiveness (word?) to the chrome. Try to use thinner, but mix it- 1 part Thinner, 1 part rubbing alcohol. I can't garuntee that it won't strip the chrome, but it's worth a shot... I'm sure you can pick up a used set of headlamps though.
