Default Will HX wheels fit 1995 Civic Coupe EX?

I have read reported fitment issues with 96-00 models pertaining to brake caliper clearance, but have not been able to locate information pertaining to the installation of 14" HX wheels on a 1995 Civic Coupe EX.

I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.

I did a test fit of a tireless HX wheel today.

The answer is NO, they definitely do not clear.

I DO NOT have ABS, and they are nowhere near clearing - the entire 6"-7" length of the caliper contacts the wheel and prevents it being mounted.

It should clear with 14's. All EX's came with 14 inch steel wheels. Unless you got the 13 inch VX wheels confused with the 14 inch HX wheels.

No, I do not have HX wheels confused with VX. h:

Actually, there is a lot of info in other forums about them not clearing the caliper on certain Civic models, including 95 EX models. My car shares 10.3" rotor Nissin brakes with some Integras.

Over at HondaTech several folks posted that they had to use spacers on their 95s as well.

The information which is proving out as correct is that HX wheels will not fit 94-00 EX/Si's without either modification to the caliper (grinding it down) or 5mm spacers.

This afternoon I verified this. HX 14" wheel would not seat, entire side of brake caliper making contact with wheel. Btw, the wheel weighed a hair under 12 pounds on my accurate 25 pound scale.

Interesting, that is good to know. Im guessing the HX wheel has a different offset from the stock 14" steelies.

Does your EX have rear discs also?
