You'll ruin every rubber seal on the entire engine.

So when I was told by an ethAnol enthusiast that every vehicle could use it but we are too scared to change, they were wrong...it is indeed bad for the engine...?

listen to him...a friend of mine in college did a whole engineering report on ethanol...it will eat every rubber part on you're engine...you can do it, but you'll have to put in metal seals everywhere instead of rubber...if you're prepared to do that then i'd say go for it...it makes more power, burns cleaner, and is just about as expensive, or cheaper, than current gas prices. that's my 2 cents. take it for what it's worth.

FYI...

IndyCar Series cars use methanol, a form of wood grain alcohol, as fuel. Methanol is used instead of gasoline mainly because of safety; it has a higher flash point (doesn't ignite as easily). The fuel is dispensed by a hose into the fuel cell, a bag made of flexible Kevlar that will not rupture upon impact.
