Default DEL SOL Transplant

I have a 1994 Del Sol SOHC VTEC, and it is smoking (white) bad. Already did some diagnostic, and I have a option to rebuild my motor or transplant. I need to know what type of motor that is legal to put in for smog. I want to put in a B18C5 or B16A/A2. Anyone out there, please help a brother out!

What are you looking for in power, looking to turbo it later?

Default Engine that can pass Referee

What would be a engine that would pass referee? I would want to get a turbo, but what would be a prefered motor for my 94 Del Sol or even better. With or without a turbo. Need to get some ideas cause I got to get the car done ASAP. I have 3k to spend on a motor.

If you only have 3k to spend, just go with a B16A, then save up for a turbo if you're going in that direction.

If I had more money then B18C5, because money comes easy when you work overtime. Will this be any problems with a referee?
