well i first purchased a aftermarket (mozart) muffler. sounded pretty good. not loud. not fart canny. just smooth. well mid pipe rusted and i picked up a tsudo mid section on ebay. it was new, stainless for $100 so i picked it up. well, all was good untill it broke in. my gf took off the otherday from my house while i was outside and it sounded like the DREADED fart can. i laughed, then.... well then i cried and i just want it to end. i dont want to drive around in like 4th all day long to make the sound go away so i would like to know what a good choice for a NON fart can muffler would be? anyone have this happen to them and find a good alternative? any help would be greatly appreciated since i HATE fart cans.

 

my full tsudo isnt fatcanish, its low and deep and rather quiet on the highway, just get the "n1" tusdo axleback to match the mid pipe, or something else "n1 style". Usually anything named "fireball" will be bee can. Are you going to have it welded, or are you going to do an axle back type deal?

Agreed. You should shell out the money for a real catback exhaust. The muffler isn't doing much for your performance. It is all noise at this point, so go with a trusted brand name exhaust that will sound nice and may net you a few horsepower.

 

APEXI WS!!! thats what i got and its great! really quiet, almost too quiet depending on how loud you want it to be.

 

I'm not trying to rain on people's parades, but everytime I hear an WS or Greddy SP which are "supposed to be not fart can at all".... it sounds like a fart can. Sure it's a deeper, more airy fart, but a fart none the less.

I'm getting the feeling that people who have the SP or WS are comparing then to N1 and knockoffs fart-kings when they say it's "not farty".

2-3 hp and $500 just isn't worth it to me to sound like my car just came from binging on dozens of Taco Bell $1 bean burritos. Go back to stock.

 

If you still want the noise yet not ricey get a Apexi N1 or if u want low tone get a Greddy EVO 2

 

Just have a muffler shop weld in a resonator.

 

all i can think about now is the FAAARRRRTTTTT noise when going through the gears, pisses me off. gotta save for that system if i want to go full cat back but as of now the pipe from the cat to the muffler is new so i guess ill have to suffer for the summer. its ok, maybe people will think im cool or somthing... yeah, thats a fat chance. sorry if anyone sees me out driving and laughs.. truth is im laughing at myself on the inside. never thought i would say i have a "FART can" exahust.
