i'd just leave it down south.

99 out of 100 theives are looking for cd players as primary targets, and get what they can from there. if there's no cd player in the stock location, or even better an OEM headunit, they'll glance and see it and move on. It's better if you have tint.

the 96-98 cx hatches came with the block-off plate stock.

I ended up taking the cover off my cupholders, and found they're pretty much useless ever since I put the cd player down there. but I got some dodge ashtrays that filled the spot nicely.
