OK my friend bought a high volt alternator and installed it into his 98 coupe. It seemed to work fine for about a week or so. One day he warmed up his car and took off. As soon as he got to the intersection and was rolling through the air bags deployed and everything else went to shit. After looking the car over we found out the alternator was pushing well over 16volts. We don't know exactly how much because the tester we had only went up to 16volts but we know that sucker could have went a whole lot more if it was a bigger meter. Anywas we changed the alternator to the stock one and the car runs fine. But we have no signals,brake ligts, instramnt lights, headlights. Nothing. I checked all the fuses and there all good. I think we might have blow all the bulbs. I just wanna know if there is something else that controlls all that besides the fuses. I will be checking all the bulbs today but you know trying to get some imput.
