I want to get some JDM netami racing seats and I was wondering if racing seats can only be used with a harness. Also, is it somehow illegal (I live in CA where everything is) to use a non Airbag steering wheel in an SRS equipped car?

You don't need harnesses for racing seats.

And yes, disabling the SRS system to put a non-airbag steering wheel in is illegal in California. (But what isn't?)

Can I just take the buckles off my old seat and bolt them on?

Ok so I got the Netami Renegade racing seats and I tried to get seat brackets for them but I was told that Weapon R and Sparco seat bracket wont work even though it clearly states, on a couple of sites, that these brands of brackets will work.

Does anyone have these seats and if so how did you mount them in your civic?

you disable your airbags and you get injured in a serious accident, you will not be medically covered.

the insurance company will state that injuries could have been prevented and the SRS has been illegally modified.

if u have access to a welder, cut ur stock brackets and sliders off and weld em to a metal bar and bolt that to the seat.

I can get acess to a welder and the seats came with sliders. I suppose that it'll be pretty self explanatory once i get a look at everything out of my car. I guess I could use my stock brackets but heard that the netami seats are wider. If anyone knows of any DIYs let me know.

I looked at a pic of the brackets and was wondering, even if the holes don't line up with the new seat sliders, couldn't I just drill new ones? Someone please let me know before my seats get here and I have no brackets. Much appreciated.

forget the seat sliders, once u take off ur stock brackets, the slider is integrated into it, just use that complete piece. u would bolt to metal bars to the seat, and then bolt that bar and weld if you have to for extra support but i seen ppl done it without welding and it has held up fine. bolts up like stock and slides like stock.
