Default Muffler silencing and install

Hey Folks, I just got an APC muffler off ebay ($5.00) and before I go welding it on and cutting the stock muffler off, I was wondering if anyone knew how to lessen the sound? I've read a couple reviews, some saying it was loud, others that it was too quiet. I'd just like to know if there are any ways of quieting the sound (if it turns out to be too loud). I can't stand extremely loud exhausts.....

I know someone is going to comment that I should just do the whole exhaust, not just the muffler and tip, but I don't have the cash now, and besides it was cheap to get a new muffler for $5. Beats the decaying stock muffler anyways.

Inlet and outlet is 2.25" in diameter. Model number 156007

Thanks for any help and comments.

Return it and get your money back is the best way to silence an APC muffler.

yeah, just run over it a few times with a dump truck, that will make it completely silent. like 96gsintegra said, about 99% people here do not like/use APC products... they are crap. don't waste your money. remember, you get what you pay for. if you dont have the cash now, save up and get something that will sound better, last longer, and have wayyyyyy better quality. don't skimp out on car parts, cause you'll feel the whole in your pocket later in the road when your car has even bigger problems due to you buying shitty products.

well, not my first choice, but now that you've got it, the easiest way is to get the stock resonator off any honda or acura and have it welded onto your exhaust somewhere behind the cat in addition to your stock one. Your will lose a few hp, but oh well.

god that's gonna sound loud and tinny w/ the peashooter stock pipe. I'd wait and save up. you really do get what you pay for w/ performance / mechanical mods. That will just annoy you and those around you.
