Default 2000 Si Civic head work

I just picked up a super clean 2000, but it has a burnt valve and no compression on cylinder 2. I am pretty sure it was due to neglect concerning oil changes.

First, is this something I should just rebuild, or should I just be looking for another head? I have not seen alot of this head around (B16 I believe) and can probably rebuild the head.

Any suggestions? I got a screamin' deal on this car and cant really say what I paid for it, but either way, I win. What should I do about this head?

Pull the head. If just the valves are messed up then replace them. Hell, while its off build the whole head with all new valve train.

So, any particular manufacturer's parts you would recommend for this valve job? Im not lookin' for the super blingin' valves, but rather something OEM that I can do a fast turnaround on.

Thanks

Well, I just called the local dealer.
Parts breakdown: (dealer costs)

exhaust valve: $42.84
intake valve: $29.06
valve spring: $13.20
retainer: $5.10
head gasket: $88.58 (just in case)
exhaust gasket: $15.18 (just in case)

I need to find a couple of these parts cheaper like the head gasket. Where, who, how much?

Dealer work will be the most cost affective.

you are supposed to replace the head gasket. If you bolt it on and right back off, your supposed to get a new one, but it's up to you.

Well, I know how I am, and basically, if the head bolts get touched at all, I end up going crazy and getting all new everything.

Yeah, I agree with you.
