What should I do???
Need your opinion here....I am saving money for a B16A swap on my 93 Del Sol for next spring/summer. I am not very experienced on engine work, the only thing I have done is an oil change and radiator flush. Should I try and do the swap myself, learn, and experience months and months of frustration, or go to an experienced shop? Is there anyone who can give a step-by-step instruction on how to swap? Thanks!!!!
Well is the car your daily driver? Because as you know a DIY swap if your not experienced is going to take time, a lot of time. And just as you think its finished something goes wrong and the car goes back to the garage. So if you need the car get it done by a pro for time and quality reasons, but if thats not an issue i would say find someone to help you along the way and do i yourself. It will be fun and a great learning experience. When your done you will feel you know your car much better and be able to realize probems much faster and solve them.
my 2 cents

i say go for it,, the manual wont help much with the swap other than runnng vtec selonoid wires and such to the comp.. also watch out for those jdm motors make sure that you ask for a non pressure washed one, also when you get check the distibutor like 5 of the motors we got had the insides all cut up,, also i know they say 30000 miles blah blah be sure and change the timing belt and water pump
Since the manual won't help me much, is there any manual or does anyone have a how-to guide on how to install the JDM motor??? It will help me on how to remove my stock engine, but how about putting in the motor and getting new harnesses, stuff like that? Since the fall is coming, I can start saving money and hopefully get things going next March or April.
if you want to do it yourself check out like hybridgarage.com or,, idont know were you live but our shop can get the moter and install it www.hybridynamics.com
