Default How much of a difference

How much of a difference in sound will I experience if I put a stock air intake on my car. My car came with a short ram. I need the car quieter.

lol having an intake really isnt that loud... Installing your stock air box quiets it down alot.

Well, I like the intake, but... I live in New York City and cops over here like to give tickets for anything. I just got one for unnecesary noise. So I want to quiet her down a little and try to get out of this ticket.

theres no way your intake is creating enough noise to justify giving you a ticket. Thats just ridiculous!

It is ridiculous...You're laws aren't like NY laws. You just have to live here to understand.

The stock intake has two resonators which significantly quiet down the intake noise. The big resonator located at the front right corner (you have to take of the bumper to get to that area) does most of the work. Without this resonator, the stock intake is much more obnoxiously rumbling loud, especially at higher revs.

Since intakes really don't do much for power, I'd go ahead and put that stock intake back in and put a K&N drop in... better than getting harassed by cops (even if they shouldn't be harassing you in the first place... the reality is... IT HAPPENS).

A little, but it isn't really as loud as some of the other exhausts I hear. It's a low pitch, and it doesn't sound like a weed whacker or a lawnmower.
