Yeah everything needs to be removed. Just unhook the parking cable and disconnect the abs sensor, the rest is all bolts.
You WILL NEED an alignment after you do this! I dont care what people tell you, be safe and get one. There is no way that you can align the new bushings in the exact same place as the old ones.

I replaced mine at probably about 165k (not really sure) it was cracked and squishy and in pretty poor shape... not quite torn, but close.

I replaced it with an ES polyurethane bushing, which has held up wonderfully. My car has like 187k now.

best way to remove it that i thought was easy was, i used a blow torched, torched the center pin and the outer sides to loosen it up, then my friend took a big flathead screwdriver and hammered it. it started peeling it away from the metal sleeve. took us 45min one side, pick up the pace and the other side came out in 30 min. afterwards, we used a metal wire brush attached to a cordless drill and clean all the residue off. grease up the new es ones and push it in by hand.

Did you plug up the brake line while doing the change, and then rebleed it? Doesn't brake fluid get all over the place?

Jesus why are you guys using torches? They hammer right out! Wait...you must be using crazy poly bushings...

You should cap the brake line with something, or it will get onto the floor, yes. You will have to rebleed.

year of car: 2000
trim: DX
body: Coupe
condition of TA bushing: pretty good still
miles you have: 80k
if you replaced it, which bushing did you replace it with: es polyurethane t/a bushings

well worth it... oh and to remove old one, heat the outer rim with a torch, and it comes right out clean as a whistle...
