I just looked in the codes Shmoo posted...I've got

D17A2- 1.7L SOHC VTEC-E 01 Civic EX (127hp)

Form what I gather reading these forums, my VTEC isn't performance. It is geared toward fuel economy. Is that correct?

So are mods pointless? Would a cool air intake do anything?

I'd say no more than 5 to the wheels.

hmm...that brings up another question. The engine spec says I have 127 hp. Is all of that on the wheels?

Hell no. :chuckles: chp is an advertising gimmick to display the most power as possible. whp is much different than chp.

I believe the rule of thumb is 15% loss through the drivetrain giving you appx. 108 at the wheels.
