Best turbo for a B20b with b16 trans?
It is a b20 it has the b16 trans that is really short geared. I want a turbo that builds fast and that can push 20psi. I have a t3 right now but i cant push anymore boost because i dont have long enough gears. If anyone knows what turbo would be the best for my situation, or what trim.
Why not swap out the tranny for a longer geared one like an LS tranny? That turbo is fully capable of 20 psi. You will have to sacrifice either power or spool up if you are going to change turbo sizes.
T72...
h:
quick question for you though, why are you running a B16 transmission on a boosted b20?
i figured you might want to stay in boost as long as possible and that B16 trans isnt helping you one bit

fawk all that b16a = shorter gears shorter gears will always = faster acceleration.....and as far as staying in boot, I dont really see the benefit of ultra tall gears JUST to stay in boost if it slows down acceleration. I just dont see the trade off being worth while...I stay stick with the b16a or as noopy said the GSR tranny for an in the middle ground.

And that turbo will be fine, as long as your b20 is sleeved
