obd performance
What is the difference between an obd1 and obd2 gsr engine
performance?
sensors?
intake difference?
can i runn a 94 gsr with my obd2 ecu?
would it be easier to convert to obd1 and run
p28? p30? or p72 obd1?
tell me what you think and what you would do
thkzz!

Engines that came from the factory equipped with OBD2 computers have a lot more sensors for sure. I know there is probably more involved but the sensors are the most obvious. Your 94 B18C1 won't run using an OBD2 ecu unless you add and wire the extra sensors. Just get an OBD2 to OBD1 jumper and run a stock GSR ecu.
You would want to run a P72 if you want the knock sensor and secondary butterflies to function. Make sure it is an OBD1 to match the engine to make it the easiest.
There is no logical reason why you would want to run an OBD2 ECU. The OBD1 makes the most sense because it is less complicated, can't learn around piggybacks, doesn't require any additional sensors and wiring, and it is what the engine was made for.

the only "logical" reason to run obd2 is that the car is obd2 (96 civic)
but like you said itll be much easier to run obd1 which is what ill do
but isnt the secondary butterflies vacuum actuated in obd1 gsrs?

secondary o2 was indeed added in obd2, but obd1 gsr's have the knock sensor
my question is about the secondary butterflies i thought the were vacuum in obd1 gsr's
right?
I agree that obd1 is the way to do it!

I'm far from an expert on GSR intake manifolds, but I thought that OBD1 and OBD2 butterfly valves work the same...
IE, the butterfly solinoid is vacuum operated but it uses an electric valve to control it.

if thats the case Ill have to get a p72 ecu since im converting to obd1
anybody datail this a little bit?
I'm about to buy the ecu and i need to be sure
