Can anyone here tell me if the PL-3 head will fit a D15 like the Z6 or Y8?
When buying the head gasket for the Z6 or Y8 why are they different even though they both bolt up to the D15?

 

if that head is from an 01+ civic, i doubt it will bolt on a d15

its a d17. it really has nothing in common with the rest of the d series family. like how the b20a shares nothing else with the rest of the b series family.

 

The engine is a d17. The ex has the d17a2 which has the vtec head. The dx, lx has the d17a1 which has the non-vtec head. I think the hx has the d17a2 with a little different work involved because of vtec-e. The bolting system on the head has changed. The displacement is different on the two engines as well as the electrical setup. The older d series has a return fuel system, while the new d17 series has the returnless fuel system.

Completely different engines.

 

Thanks for the info..My brother bought a 95 Z6 head for $140 with a valve job. Is that a good price?
