Default Question about CTR's and HID's???

I heard the getting HID's with stock headlights are bad b/c the thing that covers the bulbs makes the light glare really bad. Well since the CTR's dont have that thing would the glare be worse or better? If I decided to get HID's I would not want to retro-fit anything into those headlights.

You need projectors to focus the light, or it will blind all oncoming traffic. They will be brighter tho.

Damn, thats what I was afraid of. Someone told me I could get casper shields, they said it would help with glare.

yeah, I've heard asiandoood talk about getting those shields for ctr's in past threads.

however, another thing I've heard is people doing merc/bmw projector retrofits in ctr/sir headlamp housings specifically because they don't have the headlamp bulb reflector. the only problem there is spending $400 on lights just to tear them up, and then spend another $200 on a projector kit

That is why I dont want to get projectors. I dont want to tear up $400 headlights. I guess I wont get HID's unless I can find casper shields.

you do not need to tear up $400 headlights, get projectors and HID kit. The kit will use the bulb size that the projectors use

If you want HID's, that is pretty much your only option. Unless you get them from another doaner car and retrofit them to your CTR headlights. Which would require you to pretty much gut them. I did not think you wanted to do that. Or you could do it to a pair of USDM ones, then if you don't like it you are not out the CTR's
