this is stock 1.6 engine with 106 hp but rather not changed the engine since its good and runs good and i get 33mpg from it but liek to have back up ;-)
what size turbo would i need and were do i get the manifold for it. can the stock engine take only 6 PSi and howe much extra HP is that ? etc.

yes 6 psi is the top, and that could be up to a 50hp gain

search search search search....the boost a motor can handle is in direct proportion to the skill of the tuner

well of course, but a really skilled tuner can squeeze a bit more than 6psi out of those stock tooothpicks :exnbp:

Oh I agree, but that is a general answer though.

yes 6psi is the generally accepted norm for a stocker motor...I just wanted to point out that it is possible to get more out of it if you put the money into fuel management etc.

10psi is accepted on the d16y7. 6psi is a very very safe estimate but...

In all seriousness... it's not how many psi the engine can handle, it's how much power.

6psi on an sc34 is gonna be a lot more stressful than 6psi on a DSM t25.

I would say around 180whp is the max for daily driving on stock internals. I think that is around 8psi on most of the .48 t3 turbos.

I also believe the longgevity of any set up is due to accurate tuneing.
