Last night my battery light came on while driving. I figured it was the POS battery that i still had hooked up (in my trunk, it's been relocated). So i ran home & swaped it out & put my optima in. Battery light was still lit. I kno the alternator is brand new, only has bout 3 weeks of use now & i kno the cables are nice & snug. I'm sitting here at work right now, trying to figure out what else it might be if it's not my alternator. I'm wondering from all the vibrations of my solid mounts if the lil 10mm nut on the alternator has some loose & is causing this.. i guess i'll be finding a battery charger on my lunch break to charge my battery enough to get home

dude it doesn't matter how new a alt. is it can go anytime......espeacialy if you have a amp and some subs which is a killer cocktail for alt. plus check the cells of your batteries if they're no good you've staved the alt. of power which burns the resistors up ethier way you have to find the source of why your killing your alt so fast, unless you got a bad one brand new. what brand is it. denso., mitsu. etc.?

The battery that i started with was definatly junk, but the optima is in great condition. Alternator was running fine for at least 3 weeks now with no probs.. i'm gonna pull it off tonight & have it tested. I highly doubt it's bad, theres nothing abnormal bout it's function. No additional power is being used at this point.

That sucks man, I would say it is the alternator if all cables are snug, after switching out batteries.

ehh i checked all the fuses & everything was good, i pulled the alternator out last night & had it tested on my lunch break today.. turns out it was only puttin out 11volts .. so being that it was brand new with only about 3 weeks of use on it, they went ahead & replaced it for me for free.. so i'll probably install it tonight & let u guys kno what happens.
