Traditionally FWD are quicker into the corner because the drive wheels are the turning wheels, and RWD is quicker out of the corner because of the weight transfer to the rear (drive) wheels, whereas a FWD car will tend to understeer out of a corner. At high speed tracks, where the cornerning velocities are much higher, this effect is more pronounced, but at lower speed cornering (like in Auto-X) this effect isn't very pronounced. Also, cars with short wheelbases tend to have less weight transfer front to rear, so this mitigates the effect somewhat.

You have to realize the Civic in stock form is not meant for high performance, it's an economy car. It doesn't have the engine power, braking power, or safety features that are essential for running at high speeds for extended periods. That doesn't mean you can't have some fun with it though and make it uniquely your own

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't torque more important than horsepower off the line?

sorry about that english i was typing fast. hey thanks guys you have answered alot of my questions. so which would be the way to go for tuning. If i swap a b series engine into it i will have a better motor, but if i slap a turbo from vortech that adds 107 hp on stock engine i would have more hp then after the swap. Which would be a better way to go, im not looking for a 800 hp engine here so im not for extreme hp numbers.

Vortech doesn't make a turbo. They do make a centrifugal supercharger though. I would swap for the reliability though.

go turbo.. much cheaper than a swap and no less reliable than a swap IF tuned correctly...

You said you aren't lookin for big numbers.. you can hit 200whp easy boosted and for much cheaper than a swap... (and w/ more power)..

Completely correct, I worded it incorrectly, I meant power in general.

Torque is typically the reason for power related traction loss.

Raw time I've beaten cars twice the hp and twice the $$$. Infact I beat a Z06 at one event, and actually at the Corvette autocross events I take the fastest time of the day with my street tires

And I cannot answer the 2nd part because it doesn't make any sense.
What kind of upgrades do the events you race in allow?

STS allows i/h/e, springs, sway bars, shocks, bushings, minor weight management, brake pads, fluid, rotors, etc. All the basic bolt-on stuff.

It depends on what class you are in.

It really not about the car its about the driver, I just passed that porshce and the awd stealth in the picutre above. Does that mean my del sol is faster... we yes... but not becuase of the car because of the driver. If I had my choikce I would race a AWD Car of auto-x and hpde's but I can't afford a new car so I race and have fun with what I have.
