Oh the AGONY! of Civics
yea i know that any car will loos traction with hp but wouldnt a FWD loose more compared to a RWD? and to CivicSiRacer by the looks of those pic i bet you are pretty good driver, but wasnt you racing other civics? I am also thinking about going 240sx (s13) instead but arent they heavier than civics?, when does the less weight of a civc yet it has less traction. What im saying is even though the 240's are slightly heaver wouldnt their better traction compinsate? (240sx is RWD)

No I do not just race "other Civics". In my class alone there are 2 other Civics 5th Gen Civic Si and 7th Gen Civic Si. Also have Mini Cooper, 240SX SE, Nissan Sentra SER, Eclipse GS, Celica GTS, Accord, everything with 4 seats and motor is stock from factory.
Raw time I've beaten cars twice the hp and twice the $$$. Infact I beat a Z06 at one event, and actually at the Corvette autocross events I take the fastest time of the day with my street tires

And I cannot answer the 2nd part because it doesn't make any sense.

but its the tires that what makes the car go, no grip no go
Ah. Thanks for clearing that up.
Realistically it depends on the motorsport. IN most you want the llightest car you can find. 1) you will have better traction over a car that has the same width tire, since it can use the tire more, 2) lighter car will accelerate quicker, 3) lighter car will corner better, 4) lighter car will also brake better, 5) and a lighter car will have less problems because it has less weight to pull around.

its not so much the weight that is giving a rwd its traction, but rather the weight transfer from a launch. All the weight to rear tires = traction increase.
That is not tosay that RWD is the do all end all for traction issues, enough horsepower will tear any friction you have away.
