Default oil quantity

this is kinda a stupid question but i was changing my oil not too long ago and i completely drained all off it, changed the filter pulled out the dipstick and wiped it off and started filling it back up but when i put in three quarts i always check the dipstick. i dont know why its just a habbit of mine from prev vehicles. well when i pulled out the dipstick it said i was about a 1/8 quart shy of full. i was under the impression that my motor took 4 quarts but i guess i am wrong. i have a d15b8. do they ussually only take 3 or 4?

Default oil change

just as a reminder, make sure you run the engine after the oil change for a couple minutes to let the oil flow and settle then shut the engine off and after a couple minutes recheck the oil level to make sure it is at the proper levels. It was told to me awhile ago not to overfill an engine with oil, it can possibly make the seals leak.
