I thought I would start a new post about the 2006 Honda Civic SI. I don't know about you but I am WAAY excited for it to be released. I saw the concept car that was unveiled earlier this month. You can find it at this link http://motortrend.com/autoshows/cove...icago_civicsi/. Copy and paste this URL to your web browser. I sure hope that the final product looks like the concept. Detroit auto show reported that it will have a 200 hp DOHC engine. I am assuming its the same as the RSX Type S engine? I'm not sure about that. They also said that it has a glass roof. I wonder if the roof will look anything like the Scion TC roof? One of the other things they said is that the new SI will come with Brembo brake calipers. That is what I read online. I may be wrong but feel free to check up on it. If anyone gets anymore pictures or other cool links for the 06 Si, please post it here. Thanks...

looks good I hope honda sticks close to that design. i really dont like the other pics that came out of a small hatchback type si.

 

hmm lets see so far DOHC CIVIC SI had 160hp = RSX base model
RSX Type-S had 200hp = 06' CIVIC SI. so between SI to Type-S is 40hp difference
so if CIVIC SI gets 200hp then Type-S gets 240hp?

 

What are you saying, the 02-04 type S RSX were factory rated at 200HP and the 05 are factory rated at 210 i believe. Where are you getting that the type S is 240hp?

 

well think about it well k20a is already to proven to make 240hp plus RSX will have more power than civic no matter what!!! why do you think type-s have 200hp and civic si has only 160? hhmm how about CTR is 185 and ITR is 195? i still think that RSX Type-S will have close to 240hp, if RSX type-s has 210hp then i would buy civic si for cheaper price

 

Don't forget, though, that the majority of car buyers look for more than just HP. There's also comfort, handling, fit and finish, blah blah blah. Yeah, sure they share platforms, but there is also the "luxury" appeal of the RSX.

 

i think ur confused bro, somewhere your confused. The K20a does not make 240hp stock. Like i stated it makes 200 on 02-04 models and 210 on 05 models. Im talking USDM here BTW. The JDM DC5 ITR makes 220HP stock factory rated.

USDM DC2 ITR makes 195HP factory rated, while the JDM ITR makes 200hp. Note also this is all to the CRANK not power to wheels. (AND AS IVE STATE ITS ALL FACTORY RATED, IM NOT SURE WHAT THE NUMBERS ARE TO THE GROUND )

Now where your getting that the RSX-S has 240HP stock is beyond me.
