OEM is fine. I flush mine once a year

i know...i keep saying im sorry to Celeste. she deserved better!The noise: its like amplified syncro whine, and a very faint ticking noise. The ticking goes away when the clutch is in....

As far as I know...the D15's and D16's according to the Helms Manuals just say to use 10W-30 motor oil. About 2 quarts I believe.
B16A's and B18C's were suggested to use Honda MTF. 2.5 quarts for the B18C's. Honda MTF generally runs about 5-6 bucks retail per quart. You dont need any of that fancy stuff...and is often suggested that you should not.

Wherever I read, people say Honda MTF is the best. People that tried Redline & Royal Purple had tranny problems shortly after.

I used 40w motor oil. Alldata says to use 40W.
I've had it for 15k miles with no problems. You only need 2 quarts for servicing it because it all won't drain out. You only need more than 2 if it's a bone-dry-from-being-freshly-rebuilt transmission.
