Default Suspension Question?

I am planning on lowering my car when I get everything I need. I am probably going to be getting Neuspeed Race springs. I was wondering if I am going to need a camber kit? The car is going to be lowered 2.25 inches in the front and 2 inches in the rear. Do I need it for the front and rear? Which camber kit do you suggest I get if I need it?

yeah i'd get both the front and rear, save you from having to get new tires every month or so...the skunk2 front camber kit are pretty nice and for the rear ive seen the longer bolt and washer trick or if you want to get fancy, ingalls make an adjustable rear upper arm

I might get a camber kit. what is the longer bolt and washer trick and what does it do? Would all I need is the rear upper arm? Aslo what shocks do you recommend for use with the neuspeed springs?

the longer bolt and washer just replaces the stock bolts on the rear upper arm and the washers kinda shim between the arm and body of the car to adjust camber.

as for shocks, kyb adjustable is good for a low budget, but i dont know what will be good with neuspeed springs

Tokico Illumas work pretty well with Neuspeed springs. Maybe consider getting the sport spings, a 1.5" drop will still lower it significantly and will greatly reduce the need for a camber kit. A little goes a long way when lowering.

A lot of people go for the 2"+ drop and many of them regret going down so far. Also, the closer you are to the ground if you have a cold-air intake, the greater the chance of a hydro-lock if you run over a puddle.

Kinda' sucks when you spend all that money dropping 2.25" and realizing you can only go 1mph over speed bumps, driveways, and puddles. Or you can opt for coilovers and adjust them to your liking.

I only dropped 0.75" (H&R OE sports) and I needed to fix camber in the rear. Did the washer trick.

My frieinds del sol is lowered 2.25 in the front and 2 in the rear with kYB's and the ride is nice and it does not scrape at all going over speed bumps or down or up driveways.

Some people don't. Depends on the car, too. I had a 94 Accord lowered 2.25" and every once in a while I'd catch my muffler on a speed bump, and one time I even dragged a dead opossum home under my muffler. There were bits and peices of it on the road for miles. I don't lower that far anymore, and 1.5" still looks pretty damn good.

Should I get Neuspeed race springs or ground control coilovers?

If you need to adjust height for climate, track, or etc, get the coils. If not, just get springs with decent shocks.

Camber kits are suggested, not mandatory. But I would recommend them.
