im hearing a strange 'wah wah wah wah' noise whenever the engine is running around 2400 rpms, happens in neutral and all gears. it seems like its losing a little power while thats going on and whenever i get past 2700 or so it goes away and feels normal again. its loudest in the lower gears but i can still hear it in 5th. any clue what this could be? thanks

I'm no super-mechanic but my guess would be the transmission or, if applicable, the driveshaft, any vibration from the shifter with that sound?

Probably best to have it checked out right away. If short on cash find a place that does free inspections (Meineke usually does)

 

You really need to give a better description.


Has it always happend? Is there a vibration? What have you done lately that you think might've caused this?
