Default Hood Pin Question

I am thinking about getting hood pins to be on the safe side.

Which ones should I get? Link 1 or link 2?

The second slide-pin type, if it's between the two.

That is, if the car has a carbon fibre or fibreglass hood that actually needs them.

It does have a Carbon Fiber hood:

How do I install the pins? What do I do to put the holes in the hood? Is there any kind of write up on how to install them?

Do these look like good hood pins or should I just get the ones in the second link? These are from Ebay:

I'd stick with the sparcos.

It's simple. Locate a spot on the rad support for the posts. Drill holes and install them. Mark where they hit the hood and drill two more holes. Screw dow the latch plate and adjust the posts for proper height. Close the hood and you're done.

i jsut got my vis cf hood and got the sparco hood pins along with it. i will never run any lightweight hood, cf or fiberglass without pins or locks. i have used sparco pins before and they work very well. my friend decided to save some bucks and got some cheapie ones, the acutal threaded pin, broken in half.

Do you have them installed? Were they hard to install? Any pics? I am kinda confused on how they work. Can someone explain.

The long posts with the eyelets stick out of the radiator support and though the hood. The pins slide forward into the eyelets in the posts, and the loop flips over to keep them from backing out. The pin is attached to the latch plate so you don't loose it, as is possible with other designs. It's pretty simple, you'll understand once you have them in your hands.
