Default lightweight battery options???!!

need new battery, i checked schucks and its at like 27 pounds or so for my 94 civic coupe. i checked out those hawker/ odyssey batteries which are like 1/2 the size and 13 pounds or so. where can i buy it cheap either online or in a store? ebay is like 85 shipped for odyssey.

my coupe is a dx, only running a cd player and sometimes fog lights when its rainning. no sub system, no a/c, power steering, so i guess it should be alright. i hope my alarm wont drain it overnight. has anyone used these batteries and have cranking problems with it? thanks

those prices seem to be about right. dont worry bout the crankin amps, i believe those crank out more then your stock battery. my friend in his evo8 is replacing his stock battery with a lightweight one, dunno which brand and it had more crankin amps then his stock battery and half the size and weight.

this is some bling here. can u say 315 bukks.

I bought a Hawker off Ebay for $70. I'm pleased with it. 10lbs and my car has been starting fine for about 6 months. When I don't drive the car for more than 2 days I keep the battery on a trickle charger.

The only thing different is cold cranking amps. My Hawker is about 300 whereas OEM is about 600. If you live in a warm climate or your car is in a garage then it shouldn't matter.

Also with a dry cell you can kill the battery over and over again and it will recharge good as new. Can't do that with regular batteries.

If you're interested, I can get a 14 lb dry cell battery with 800 cca. Cost is about $100 something shipped.
